What is the normal range for urine bilirubin?

0-0.2

0-0.02

Bilirubin should not be present in urine in a healthy person. Only trace amounts, if any, may be detectable because of the assay’s sensitivity, not because bilirubin is normally excreted in urine. The upper limit of this normal, trace-level range is about 0.02, so 0 to 0.02 reflects essentially undetectable to trace bilirubin and is considered normal. If bilirubin in urine is higher than this, it suggests that conjugated bilirubin is appearing in the urine, which points to liver dysfunction or biliary obstruction. The other ranges imply higher amounts that would be abnormal, so they aren’t considered normal.
